This super cute DIY project will corral all your hair accessories into one easy to use space while showing off your pretty hair bling!
1 plate (glass or plastic)
1 wide bodied vase
1 candle holder
4 small magnets
Spray paint (your choice of color)
Optional: scrapbook paper stickers or decals
Things to note when selecting your items
>If this will be used by a younger child you should probably use plastic to avoid broken glass should it fall.
>Select a vase wide enough to hold a headband but not so wide it stretches it out.
>The mouth of the vase also needs to be wide enough to fit your hand in & out of since this is where you’ll store hair ties
>The plate you choose needs to leave a wide enough ledge around the base of the vase to hold bobby pins and clips
>Finally, the paint – I used the same pink spray paint that I already used for other projects for that room. When you select your color try to keep the decor of the room in mind or go with something complimentary to the color of the majority of your accessories.
Your going to start with the assembly:
a) adhere the magnets; placing them evenly spaced to the underside of the plate
b) adhere the vase to the top center of the plate
c) adhere the candle holder to the bottom center of the plate.
Give a full 24 hours for the adhesive to set.
Now that the structure is assembled and secure its time to paint! In a well ventilated area over plenty of newspaper or a drop cloth, follow the manufactures directions to paint your assembly.
Let paint dry according to manufactures directions.
This is optional since the piece will be covered with all of your pretty hair accessories, but you may choose to further decorate the vase area with some stickers or decals. You could also paper mache with scrapbook paper.
Set-up! Here is where it all comes together!
Fill the inside of the vase with hair ties, fabric headbands, combs & brushes.
Assemble plastic & metal headbands over the body of the vase.
Spread Bobby pins over the magnetic areas along the ledge of the plate to keep them put.
Last, any accessories with a clip and be attached the the edge of the plate!
